   COUNTY GOP CHAIRMAN CALLS ON REPRESENTATIVES CASORIO AND PALLONE TO OPPOSE STATE TAX INCREASE

   Greensburg, PA

   Last week Ed Rendell finally came clean with the people of Pennsylvania and admitted that instead of cutting back wasteful spending and restraining his appetite for new programs, he would impose a whopping 16% increase on the State’s Personal Income Tax.

   In the wake of the governor’s proposal several Democratic state Representatives said they wouldn’t support an income tax increase but silent in the response were Representatives for Westmoreland County John Pallone and Jim Casorio. While Democratic Representatives Ted Harhai, Nick Kotick among others expressed their opposition to the income tax increase, Pallone and Casorio remained silent leaving their constituents to wonder whether their representatives will represent the taxpayers in Westmoreland County or Ed Rendell.

   Westmoreland County GOP Chairman George Dunbar stated, “Pennsylvania already is the 11th most taxed state in the nation. I hope that Representatives John Pallone and Jim Casorio won’t join Governor Rendell, and the House Democratic leadership, in raising our taxes even further. I would encourage the residents of their districts to call and email their State Representative and tell them not to raise our taxes.”
