Re: PA House GOP releases “Rendell Bad Math” Web Ad

Pennsylvania House Republicans released a new Web Ad entitled "Rendell’s Bad Math.” The ad examines the true meaning of the governor’s $2 billion in “cuts” he has made to his $29+ billion 2009-10 budget proposal. Here is the video about the governor’s bad math: http://tinyurl.com/nhk9k5

It appears the Rendell Administration is truth-challenged as they fight to take more money out of the pockets of hard-working Pennsylvanians.

Interestingly, the administration admits to not telling the full truth in order to have its own way (of taxing more, borrowing more and spending more). You can read the Philadelphia Inquirer article: http://snipurl.com/m3zpt.

This admission now begs the question... where else have they stretched the truth?

Attached is a script of the video.

YOU TUBE SCRIPT / “Bad Math”

Hi… I’m Joe Taxpayer and I want to show you a little math lesson I learned from Governor Ed Rendell.

Here, let’s make this look official…. (drawing on whiteboard)

You start with 28 billion dollar budget he signed last July, subtract the 2 billion dollars in spending cuts he said he and his staff worked hard to find, and you’re left with: the 29 billion dollars he wants to spend this year.

So, under Rendell Math, 28 billion, minus 2 billion, equals... 29 billion!

Does that make sense? I guess it does if you want to raise taxes.

We know the governor knows how to ADD…

…he just doesn’t know how to subtract.

But this year we need to subtract; subtract Harrisburg waste, subtract state government bureaucracy to stop a tax increase.

We need to call the Governor and the House Democrats who support his plan and tell them you have your own budget to meet and you can’t afford another five dollars a week or three dollars a week… or another PENNY in higher taxes...

It's wrong to bear false witness simply to take money from taxpayers and give to friends, supporters, and tax-addicts.

Hard to believe but the House Republicans have made a credible and it seems irrefutable point. I wonder if the Governor thinks he can fool all the people again. Even the Inquirer in southeast thought the Governor's math was bad.

    Is the Gov losing it?
