   Wow... the old Rendell Doctrine lives on... Create a crisis, instill fear and ram home expensive solution... And this is classic Rendell doctrine – gathered from several reporters comments on Twitter, House Democrats, while blaming Republicans, can’t get their own members to support Rendell’s extra spending budget proposal which needs a tax increase. House Dem leaders tonight are embracing Rendell’s scare tactics. Speaker McCall said of the soon to be crafted House Democrat budget proposal: Some hospitals might close and as many as 6,000 state workers could be laid off. He “stressed it's real.”

   If that isn’t scare tactics…. Next they will say their budget will force 800 state Police lay-offs!

   If they put a budget bill on the floor, they will see an amendment which funds state government operations, will keep the parks open, hospital operating and law enforcement on the streets… all WITHOUT a tax increase. House Republicans have a plan – using existing revenues in a responsible manner.

   Steve Miskin is articulating this well. It would seem Republicans understand that any Republican voting for a tax increase is a Republican planning on retiring in 2010.

   Would that Republicans held steadfast to the principle that the State can spend revenues it doesn't have.

   The Forgotten Taxpayer has to pay for what he or she wants and if he or she can't, then he or she can't have it.
