I think it's very curious that Sean Ramaley's trial had to be postponed because of "unresolved issues" related to discovery. What is it the AG's office doesn't want to turn over?

Paul Carpenter makes some excellent points and the shooting in Northampton is upsetting.

"Trust me" says Tom Corbett. When a politician says that, what do we instinctively think?

Casablancapa reprints excerpts from Veon Brief that implicates both Sec. of Revenue Steve Stetler and Majority Leader Todd Eachus in Bonusgate

    http://casablancapa.blogspot.com/2009/08/holding-legislators-hostage.html

In part, please read the entire link with copies of emails. The evidence is compelling and one wonders why Todd Eachus and Steve Stetler have not been indicted. "the investigation is ongoing..." will be the answer. This investigation seems to be investigation to nowhere.

    Exhibit F

Before Steve Stetler resigned from the House of Representatives in the summer of 2006, Todd Eachus and his campaign actively used caucus employees using caucus time and equipment for his campaign. [See attachment 1]

For the 2004 Election, Michael Thomas, an employee in the LRO, was assigned to Eachus’ district office in the same manner as Steve Webb in Beaver County that year. It is important to note that several defendants are charged with crimes in connection to Steve Webb’s placement in Beaver County for the Ramaley campaign. [See attachment 2]

After Stetler’s departure, Eachus became a key member of the House Democratic Campaign Committee. He was a member of group who made final decisions regarding campaigns and resources to be used on campaigns, with a specific focus on directing the work done by caucus employees for incumbent members with difficult campaigns. It appears that Corbett really will officially announce his candidacy without having arrested a single Republican in the "Bonusgate" investigation. Personally, I never would have believed he'd have the arrogance, but I guess the polling shows he has nothing to gain by filing charges, and plenty of contributions and political support to gain by not doing so.

My guess is he will "hand off" the investigation to one of his lackeys and wash his hands of the whole mess. Any criticisms from here on out will be met with "I can't comment, I'm not handling the investigation."

Correct, Nelly. "the investigation is ongoing..." The professional staff needs to be ashamed of itself. This was a chance to change the corrupt, incumbent protection dynamic in Harrsiburg and greed for power overwhelmed justice and good government. Corbett is a menace to the Rule of Law

Casablancapa picks interesting portion of the Veon Brief. Rachel Manzo has been indicted. Her husband, Mike Manzo, former chief of staff to Bill DeWeese, has pled guilty. If this is true, and it seems likely that it is, then Rachel Manzo can implicate yet another of Democratic House Leadership in Bonusgate. One would think that she would be required to tall all she knows. Or, her husband would be required if the AG's office is competent. I am beginning to think that Inspecter Clouseau is skilled professional compared to AG's staff and the AG himself. This seems like low hanging fruit.

Rachel Manzo was directly supervised by Eachus for the HDCC’s cabinet secretary project. She coordinated directly with House Caucus staff, the HDCC staff and incumbent members’ campaign managers. It is important to note that Manzo was charged in connection with this project but not Eachus, who directly supervised her work. Good point, Signor Ferrari. The evidence in the public domain makes a persuasive case that Republicans did what Democrats were indicted for. "the investigation is ongoing..." One would have expected House Republicans, in particular, to be making political points against the Democrats for corruption. They have not. Could it be that this would bring attention to themselves and voters might ask. "What were the Republicans doing? John Perzel was their leader during pertinent times.

James Reeder and Frank Fina of Union County are the staff professions investigating Bonusgate. I think it is time to name names of the staff that is throwing us under the bus. It is unsettling to see the AG run for Governor while there is ongoing prosecution of his colleagues and opponents. Will we the people permit this phony to be our next Governor?

I was at Charlie Dent's First Annual Republican Convention in Lehigh and Northampton. Jim Gerlach and RINO Hack Jim Cawley was there representing Corbett. Pat Toomey was on fire and Scott Ott for County Executive was impressive. Some good people are moving up the ladder. Rep. Harhart was there as was Rep. Reichley and Rep. Beyer and it seems House Rs have the best budget. They seem to be toughening up. Sen. Browne was there, too. His Pension amendment was attached to HB 1828 and eviscerated and even then the unions object to very commonsense and necessary reforms.

Lots of excitement. Pat Toomey is igniting the base with ideas of Constitutional Limited Government.
