This is my commentary about the conversation between Steve Corbett and Luzerne County Commissioner Steve Urban on WILK 103.1 FM - NEWSMAKER INTERVIEWS

LISTEN TO THE BROADCAST AT THIS LINK:

After the real estate conflict of interest issues in regard to the Mayor of Wilkes-Barre and his business transactions another related topic involved appointment of members to various boards in the area.

KUDOS FOR COMMENTARY OF THE JUDICIAL CANDIDATE AMESBURY ACCEPTANCE OF DONATIONS FROM MERICLE IN MAY 2009. WHY DID HE NOT RETURN IT? AMEBURY DEFENDED HIMSELF INSTEAD OF THE ADMITTANCE THAT IT WAS A MISTAKE. HE ALSO STRESSED THAT THE WIFE SIGNED THE CHECK. IT CLEARLY SHOWS UNCLEAR THINKING. NOW THE CONTROVERSY CONTINUES.
AMESBURY IS A DEMOCRAT WHO DOES NOT DESERVE THE SUPPORT OF THE REPUBLICAN VOTE OR ANY OTHER POLITICAL GROUP!!!!!! HE DOES NOT SHOW SOUND JUDGEMENT. HE WILL DO AND SAY ANYTHING TO WIN!!!!! I DO NOT SUPPORT AMESBURY FOR JUDGE. I hope I am clear about this.

It is my opinion that the practice of appointments to boards for the non-profit organizations, local higher educational institutions, housing authority boards, etc. have been a way to abuse the system. My own interaction with the local non-profit group called the Cultural Council of Luzerne County shows there is no tolerance for differences of opinions. How are these boards chosen?
I will tell you how: They pick their buddies to ensure votes for construction bids, government supplies, government projects, educational contracts, juried art shows, contracts for public art and monuments, and jobs in government. I am sure others can add to my list. Are tax dollars abused? Let's post the boards on the Luzerne County website so we all can find out who make these decisions.

EASY access will provide more information to the public. MEETING MINUTES, AGENDAS and SOCIAL CONTACTS can be more accessible for us all to determine who is playing "DIRTY POLITICS".

    LISTEN OR READ THE TRUTH!

REMEMBER FOLKS: STICK TO THE ISSUES RELATED TO GOVERNMENT PROCEDURE.
WHO WORKS HARD TO FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES HONESTLY? All other nonsense and dramas are insignificant. Amesbury is seeking votes in any way possible. He even got down on one knee when I was assisting with an event in downtown Hazleton. He lost my vote!!

Look more into donations to Amesbury's campaign. There were other donations related to Mericle.

I want to also add that I hope there is a conversation at some point about the Luzerne County Homerule Commission.
Too bad there was not enough time in last night's show.

It is my humble opinion that all members of the Luzerne County Home Rule Commission must consider when they write up a new plan for government in this county to ensure they are dedicated to FIGHT CORRUPTION. (WOW! That sentence should be corrected for grammar. I can hear my English teacher friend at Southern Columbia school district telling me to proofread my writing before I post. Hey...I do not have time right now. I have laundry to finish and art to create) I give up a lot of time to continue this fight. No vacations for me this weekend.

I say it is a CONFLICT of INTEREST to run for office to attain a position that they themselves created. (LOL - I have so many run-on sentences) This of course........... must be considered if the public votes yes on their new charter. Luzerne County Controller Candidate Walter Griffith said he would resign from the Home Rule Study Commission if he is elected Luzerne County Controller on November 3, 2009. These are my thoughts before I go to my work on art and some other tasks. HMMMMM.....I have a long list of items to complete: laundry, grocery shopping, etc. How can I continue to neglect these important priorities? Well I guess the answer is: as long as it takes to continue the FIGHT AGAINST LUZERNE COUNTY CORRUPTION!

Let's all keep in the spirit of OPERATION H.E.A.R.T!

I will go now as I have a lot to do!
    Have a good weekend everyone!

Luzerne County Commissioner Steve Urban comments on conflict of interest with
Mayor Thomas Leighton and his real state business. His earnings as Mayor is about $70,000 a year. Is he using taxpayer time to his own benefit for his real estate work?
Listen to this again. Most of the information about this issue is at the beginning of the interview.

Another item to add to this commentary: A lawsuit for Wilkes-Barre Mayor Thomas Leighton. These allegations are tied into a real estate deal. DID THE CITY VILOATE THE "RIGHT TO KNOW ACT"? Is this lawsuit inaccurate?
