Families are giving testimony as I type this little post. I listened to Steve Corbett's
WILK 103.1 FM NewsTalk Radio show this afternoon. The hearings are held at the Best Western East Mountain Inn, off Route 1-15, Plains Township, Luzerne County, PA.
The hearings are open to the public. It is my hope the families tell their stories so the truth is finally revealed.

Sue Henry reported she heard testimony about an 11 year old child who was placed in handcuffs for fine violations. This testimony continues through later this evening and more questions will be answered tomorrow.

When you read these two news items you will understand why I think "Charlie Brown" Christmas trees are okay for our courthouse. This gift does not change the fact that Commissioner Greg Skrepenak voted with Todd Vonderheid in November 2004 to sign a $58 million, 20-year lease with Pennsylvania Child Care LLC. Luzerne County Commissioner Steve Urban voted against it.

Michael R. Sisak / The Citizens' Voice Commission Chairman John M. Cleland and members of the Interbranch Commission on Juvenile Justice listen to testimony Nov. 10.

.......... least two of the three Luzerne County commissioners plan to testify next week before a state panel investigating the county's kids-for-cash corruption scandal, county officials.....

Hopefully the juveniles and families are present in full force telling everyone their story. Their voices were scheduled to start at 7:00PM.

Tomorrow's schedule starts at 9:00 AM.
The Luzerne County Commissioners will give their comments and answer questions at 1:00 PM

It is uncertain whether Commissioner Greg Skrepenak will report in too.

This is not mandated. The Luzerne County Commissioners were invited to present and answer questions by this panel.

I am confident that Commissioner Steve Urban will stand as the lone Commissioner who never stopped asking questions. SAY IT LOUD COMMISSIONER STEVE URBAN! Luzerne County and the state of Pennsylvania are listening.

This morning I have listened to Sue Henry's Talk Radio show on WILK 103.1 FM.
She let her audience hear part of the testimony from the families involved in the KIDS FOR CASH scandal.

In some cases "guilt" was assumed. The tremendous change in the lives of the juveniles cannot be truly expressed. The only thing a person can do is become a stronger individual.
Empower yourself with an attitude that you can survive. You will go on with your life and seek out truth. This is a big step.

The frustration expressed by parents is extraordinary. The grief is too difficult to describe unless you actually hear the testimony.

There is an extreme contrast between the statements given by lawyers, officials and the victims.

    WHY??????

It turns my stomach when I hear anyone defend the actions of those who received money for their decisions. It makes me sick when I hear testimony that protects these actions.

A young woman described her experience. Question: What would you like to see changed?

Answer: Someone must watch over the judges and lawyers.

The normal legal routine was not followed in many cases.

    KIDS FOR CASH!!!!!!

    TELL ME PEOPLE: WHY?????

    I commend Sue Henry's efforts.

The "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" philosphy stinks.

Did anyone watch the video of the hearings on PCN over the weekend?

The extreme contrast of testimony is obvious.
